What the membership gives you

Your contractor builds the record. Your membership is how you read it, print it, download it, and share it. Open the record on your account whenever you want. Print a copy for the buyer. Download a PDF for your insurer. Send a section to the next contractor. The record stays with the home for the life of the home. The membership is your access to it, the moment you need it.

The questions, answered straight.

If you're going to put your home on this list, you deserve plain answers.

When does my record become active?
Memberships are open now. Your founding rate is locked the moment you join. Your record becomes active when your first enrolled contractor logs a service event to your home. The service launches in full in Fall 2026; founding members are first in line as enrolled contractors come online in their area. If your contractor isn't on the registry yet, you'll receive a referral link to invite them. They get the founding contractor offer, and your record activates the moment they enroll.
When is my card charged?
Not for 12 months. Apply code FoundingMember at checkout to activate your free year — we capture a card so we can hold your founding rate and keep your record continuous, but nothing is charged for your first year. After 12 months, the $79.99 founding rate begins and locks in for the life of the home as long as the membership stays current. You can cancel anytime during the free year and never be charged; after the free year, your membership renews annually unless cancelled.
Are taxes included in the $79.99?
Pricing shown is the base membership rate and excludes applicable taxes. During our launch period, no tax is added at checkout. As our tax registration completes, applicable GST, HST, or provincial taxes may be added to future renewals based on your billing address. You'll see any tax line clearly on your renewal invoice and any future updated charge.
What does $79.99 a year actually cover?
One permanent record for your home that tracks every mechanical and energy system on it: furnace, A/C, water heater, electrical panel, heat pump, solar, EV charger. Every install and every service gets logged by the contractor who did the work, signed, dated, with the invoice and warranty registration on file. The record stays with the home for as long as it's on the registry, and transfers with the sale if you list.
What is Asset History Report not responsible for?
Asset History Report keeps the record. We are not a service provider, a warranty company, or a contractor management service. To be specific about what that means: we do not perform any repairs, maintenance, installation, or inspection work on your home. We do not quote, schedule, dispatch, or charge for any service work; all of that is between you and the contractor you choose. We do not issue, manage, transfer, or honor warranties; manufacturer warranties and labour warranties are issued by the manufacturer or the contractor and stay with them. We do not verify the quality of work that contractors perform; we verify that the contractor signing a record is a real, credentialed, insured tradesperson, but the workmanship is between you and them. We do not recommend, vouch for, or assign specific contractors to your home; the contractors on the registry are those who have enrolled and met our credentialing requirements. Any service event, quote, repair, warranty claim, or dispute about workmanship is handled directly between you and your contractor. Documents attached to your record (invoices, warranty registrations, inspection reports) are stored as part of the record for your reference; we don't administer or enforce them.
What does "Founding Home Rate, held for the life of the home" mean?
It's the deal locked in for homes that join the founding cohort: your first 12 months free, then $79.99 a year locked for the life of the home as long as the membership stays current. If a membership lapses or is cancelled, the founding rate is forfeited and rejoining would be at the standard rate. If you move, you can transfer your founding rate to your new home and continue at $79.99/year. The record you built stays attached to the home you sold; the new owner can continue the record under a standard membership. After the first 20,000 homes, the standard rate applies for new memberships.
Can I cancel?
Yes. You can cancel your membership at any time from your account. If you cancel within the first 30 days of joining, you'll receive a full refund. After 30 days, your membership remains active through the end of the period you've paid for and does not renew. Historical records already attached to the property are preserved as part of the home's history. Note that cancelling forfeits the Founding Home Rate; rejoining later would be at the standard rate.
Can I export my record?
Yes. Your full record is exportable on demand as a PDF or structured data file. You can hand it to a buyer, share it with your insurer, or keep it for your own records. The record is yours. Note that the record builds as your enrolled contractors log service events to your home. Until your first contractor enrolls and logs an entry, the record is open and waiting. Your founding rate is locked, but there's nothing to export yet. The record grows from there with every install, every service, every warranty registration. Founding members are first in line as enrolled contractors come online in their area.

What Asset History Report is not

Honest about what we do and don't do.

AHR is a record. It's not a service provider, a permitting authority, or an inspection company. Knowing the scope keeps everyone clear on what they're getting and where to go for the work itself.

Permits & municipal compliance

We do not pull permits, contact your municipality about permits, pay for permits, or verify that a permit is on file with the city. Permit numbers attached to your record reflect what your contractor entered; verification with your local authority is yours or your contractor's responsibility.

Inspection & workmanship

We do not inspect, certify, or verify the quality of any work performed on your home. We are not licensed contractors, engineers, or home inspectors. We verify that contractors signing records are real, credentialed, insured tradespeople — the workmanship itself is between you and them.

Service, repair & dispatch

We do not perform, schedule, dispatch, quote, or charge for any service work. All service events, repairs, replacements, and disputes about workmanship are handled directly between you and the contractor you choose.

Warranties & claims

We do not issue, manage, transfer, or honor warranties. Manufacturer warranties and labour warranties are issued by the manufacturer or contractor and stay with them. Warranty documents on your record are stored for reference; we don't administer or enforce them.

Contractor recommendations

We do not recommend, vouch for, or assign specific contractors to your home. The contractors on the registry are those who have enrolled and met our credentialing requirements. Choice of contractor is always yours.

Inspections, appraisals & diligence

Your record does not replace home inspections, lawyer reviews, lender appraisals, or due diligence at transactions. It's supplemental documentation that travels with the home — not a substitute for professional review at moments that warrant it.

If something on your record needs to be verified, corrected, or disputed, that conversation happens directly with the contractor who signed it — we make their credentials and contact information available. Our role is to keep the record straight.
